Once you open your account page in MetaMask, you’ll be able to get access to all ERC20 standard tokens that you own.

The first step is to select the Assets tab in your wallet.

If you don’t find your token listed, you will have to add it manually. To do it, just select the Add Token option located below your assets.

A search bar will be opened, and you’ll be able to find the tokens you own.

Using the Search Bar

Here’s a short three-step guide on how to find popular tokens using a search bar.

  1. Type in the name of the ticker symbol for the token you want to add. For example, if you want to add Tether, you can start typing that or enter its symbol — USDT.
  2. Select the token
  3. Click on Next
  4. Click Add Token

After this, you’ll see the token listed under your Assets tab.

Hiding the Token

If you don’t want to see a token anymore, you can hide it from your Asset tab. All you have to do is click on the token, select the dots icon in the upper right corner and click on Hide USDT (or any other token you’re trying to hide.

However, if you want to add less popular tokens, such as Feyorra (FEY), you’ll not be able to find them with the search feature. In that case, you’ll have to follow the process below.

Adding Feyorra (FEY)

  1. Select Add Token on the main page of MetaMask and click on the Custom Token tab.
  2. Enter the token address under Token Address. For adding Feyorra (FEY), you’ll have to enter the following address: 0xe8e06a5613dc86d459bc8fb989e173bb8b256072
  3. The Token Symbol and Decimals of Precision fields will auto-fill (FEY & 18 in the case of Feyorra). If these don’t autofill, you can look at the token’s project documentation to find these two pieces of information.
  4. Select Next
  5. Click Add Token

What to Do If You Can’t Find a Token Address?

If your goal is to add Feyorra (FEY), then you don’t have to worry about the token address as we provided it above.

However, if you want to add a token and you don’t know how to find an address, you should first determine the network it’s hosted on.

Tokens that are part of the Ethereum mainnet can be found on popular block explorers, such as Ethplorer and Etherscan.

If the tokens aren’t on Ethereum, make sure that you select the appropriate network on your MetaMask account and search the block explorer that corresponds to it to find more about your token.

Another way to learn more about the token is to ask the person who sent it to you to give you the token address.

Please take into account that if the person isn’t able to give you the token address and refuse to send you your transaction ID (transaction hash), that’s probably because they haven’t made the transaction in the first place.
